Elena Nardozzi – Elephant conservation

JR wrote 1 month, 1 week ago:
Testimonial by Elena Nardozzi I have done a fair bit of international travel, and have met many people. I have to say, Sri Lanka was one of the best times I have had. I usually do not dish out complements like ice cream, but I feel the LEO Project Foundation did a magnificent job hosting and supporting me. From delayed bag to lost passport, there was no shortage of "unfortunate events" in my trip. It was the first time such things had happened to me in such a large way. Yet, I was never truly upset or worried. There was so much support from the ...

Chris Land Orphans

JR wrote 3 months, 2 weeks ago:
Testimonial by Ms Chris Land. I was happy to find the Leo Project on the net as I wanted so much to visit Sri Lanka and do some volunteer work, work that I felt was actually helping in some way, without costing me a fortune. I feel to pay a couple of hundred pounds for board and lodging in addition to giving your time is fair, whereas many of the organizations I had enquired with were requesting a large amount of money for the privilege of giving my time! In addition the flights are not cheap and none of us are made of money. ...

Testimonial by Lucy Feather: My time in Sri Lanka was absolutely amazing! I had a fantastic time and thought the whole thing was unreal and a once in a lifetime opportunity. Chrissy Elia – Working with elephants

JR wrote 9 months, 3 weeks ago:
Testimonial by Chrissy Elia: It was amazing!! I would seriously advise anybody thinking of going to go as it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. The only advise i’d give someone thinking of going is to find out how many volunteers are going to be at the project at the same time as they are, as the elephants have to be shared out and it can end up with up to four people on one elephant, and in all fairness there isn’t really that much to do with the elephant that can be shared out among four people! Lucy and I were lucky in that we shared one ...

Alison Gow – Teaching English

JR wrote 10 months, 3 weeks ago:
Testimonial by Alison Gow: In 2006 I spent 12 weeks as a volunteer in Sri Lanka. I taught conversational English in a secondary school, nursery and orphanage in a small town called Kurunegala. As someone who had never travelled outside of Europe I was nervous and apprehensive of the unknown. However, Sri Lanka superseded all of my expectations and I even chose to extend my stay by 3 weeks. It opened my eyes to life in a different part of the world and enabled me to immerse myself in a different culture; experiencing different foods, clothing, religion and language. Most important of all, I was given ...

Alex Seigel – My responsible holiday experience

JR wrote 10 months, 3 weeks ago:
Testimonial by Alex Seigel: Taking a responsible holiday in Sri Lanka was a truly incredible experience that exceeded all my expectations. It enabled me to see a different culture and to immerse myself in another way of life. The opportunity broadened my horizons and gave me the chance to make positive difference in a country which has had a great deal of difficulties. One of the great things about the projects was meeting and working with the Sri Lankan people who were consistently friendly, warm and fun to be around. I will always treasure the memories from my time there and was inspired by to want ...
