Host family

Guest or host families are commonly used with the working with children, teaching and building projects. The wildlife conservation projects have onsite accommodation.

A typical guest family will consist of parents, their child(ren) and perhaps the grandparents. Most of the guest families we use have been receiving responsible holiday makers for a number of years already. Hence their English is of reasonable standard and they are more accustomed to the sometimes strange Western culture.

It is a true delight staying at a guest family. You receive a genuine warm welcome, share typical Sri Lankan food and get immerged into the real Sri Lankan culture. It is the perfect opportunity to get to know the real Sri Lanka.

When planning a weekend trip your guest family will be more than happy to give you advice and sometimes they’ll invite you to join them for a special outing.

Contact with guest families usually remains long after you left Sri Lanka. And if ever visiting the country again it is most likely you are welcome to stay once again at the family.
